Communities of Faith

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:20)

God is at work in the world today!

He answers, forgives, restores, and brings peace and purpose to our lives.

We get together because we can’t help it. It is in community that we are sharpened, encouraged and strengthened.

Read on to find out how our community is all about communities, and see the many ways that you can be part of that journey.

Sunday Services (weekly at 10 AM)

An all-ages service where faith is nurtured and community is fostered.

Brighton Beach Church meets in a “3:1” pattern: meeting for three consecutive Sundays at Brighton Town Hall (corner of Carpenter and Wilson Streets, Brighton), then one week in homes-based Living Rooms meetings. (See below for more!)

The structure is broadly similar – each time we come together from 10AM onwards, with some dedicated content for children, a communion celebration, and a main teaching message.

Whether you go to church regularly or this is your first time ever – and whether you are in our ‘church’ home at the Town Hall, or the home of a member of our community – we hope to help you feel right at home!

Brighton Town Hall

Town Hall meetings

Next Town Hall meeting:
This Sunday, 3 December 2023

In weeks where we meet at the Brighton Town Hall, we begin at 10AM and share morning tea, giving us time to get together to encourage one another before moving into the structured part of the worship service.

Our Town Hall meetings also incorporate a children’s program (for ages 3-12), which runs in parallel to the main worship service.

Once the service concludes, we encourage everyone to stay on to continue the conversation – and people often leave long after the last song has finished!

We’d love you to join us. If you need any extra details, just contact us via the form below, and we’ll be in touch as soon as we are able.

Living Rooms

Next Living Rooms meeting:
Sunday, 7 January 2024

A Living Rooms week is similar to our Town Hall weeks. Individual home hosts arrange for their groups to meet at a time that gives space for relationship building and encouragement, often over a meal (breakfast, morning tea or lunch). Adding to this community time, the individual home groups connect for a short “combined” time, facilitated over Zoom, from 10:30AM.

Each session includes a time of communion and a main message with a practical focus, designed to help the Living Rooms engage in conversation and discipleship. Home groups where children are included are supported with fun activity packs, delivered to the home leaders.

We love to welcome guests, but in the interest of keeping things safe and secure, we don’t publish our home lists publicly. If you would like to join us, fill in our Contact form. and we’ll get back to you personally.

The Miracle of Christmas

Sunday, 17 December 2022
10AM and 4PM

This year, Brighton Beach Church is excited to be able to offer not just one, but two traditional family Christmas services!

Join us at Brighton Town Hall, where we will enjoy traditional carols, a nativity story, and a message of joy – all grounded in the hope that came to us through the birth of Jesus!

The fun won’t stop there – we’ll have special Christmas catering, Christmas gifts for the children, and enough joy to last you for the rest of the holiday season.

We hope to see you there!

Joining Alpha will cost you nothing, but it could change everything! So, what have you got to lose?

Encounter (Jan 2023)

Encounter Evenings

They all joined together constantly in prayer…” (Acts 1:14)

Together we can learn how to communicate with God with greater fluency, and we can also see community change and hear from Him on behalf of others.

Encounter evenings are hosted at the Brighton Town Hall or in homes of members of our church community. The format is flexible, but each week includes some time for personal reflection and prayer, as well as the opportunity to bring others’ prayer needs to the group.

7:30PM Wednesdays | Location Varies

Discovery (Bible Study)

Discovery Groups

“The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God…” (Mark 1:1)

Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been reading it for years, Discovery Bible Study (Discovery) is an enjoyable and effective way to read the Bible. It draws together small groups and follows a simple format that leads to rich conversation.

Discovery groups are exciting because the Holy Spirit speaks as people read the Bible. Being part of a Discovery group will help you grow, uncover truth, and make friends with others who are on the journey.

Discovery groups run both online and in-person, once per week, for around an hour.
